Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev expressed anger at Romanian demands for the return of gold imported to Russia more than a century ago. He published the relevant post on his page on the social network “In contact”.
Medvedev called such demands “arrogance” and wrote that he did not even know how to respond to it.
“The EU stole $300 billion worth of assets from Russia and wants the return of Romania’s gold. “There is nothing to say in Russian, you can just send it,” Medvedev wrote.
In the same post, the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council expressed the view that “Romanians, as you know, are not a nation, but a way of life”, calling European leaders “idiots, weaklings and nonentities”.
According to Medvedev, in 1918 Romanian gold was nationalized by the Soviet government “for bad behavior”.
“Romania accepted this and later refused to pay compensation from us as a result of the Nazi period in the Second World War. Well, now the appetite of various idiots in the European Parliament has increased again,” Dmitry Medvedev wrote.
14 March European Parliament requested Return of Romania’s gold reserves from Russia.
On the same day in the State Duma offered Go back to Romania’s reparations for its participation in World War II.
Previously about Russia’s “fictitious debts” to Romania stated Official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova.
