As the wp.pl portal claims, Marek Magierowski will no longer be the Polish ambassador to the United States. He was said to be on the list of diplomats whom Radosław Sikorski wanted to dismiss.
Bogna Janke, who has been Poland’s ambassador to Brazil since 2023, will also be on the list.
Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs previously said in a statement that the head of the ministry, Radosław Sikorski, has decided to end the mission of more than fifty ambassadors and withdraw several candidacies submitted for approval by the previous management of the ministry.
The ministry added that the proposed changes were presented as part of the Foreign Service Convention, and practical appeal procedures were initiated following their acceptance by Prime Minister Donald Tusk. At the same time, it expressed hope “for harmonious cooperation of the country’s main authorities in this matter.”
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that this is the beginning of the procedure.
We will do it in a civil manner; This was not always the case under our predecessors
– he said.
