The German “TAZ” published a text attacking the actions of the PiS government in the cultural field and praising the decisions of Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz. Prof. commented strongly on the article. Piotr Glinski.
A German newspaper is jubilant about the decisions of the new Minister of Culture.
In the German “Die Tageszeitung”, Gabriele Lesser admires the changes in Polish cultural institutions introduced by Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, head of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, from December 13, 2023. Moreover, the German journalist allows himself to make extremely impertinent suggestions about “the myth of ‘eternal heroes and victims’” and about “the dark pages of Polish history, that is, the history of the perpetrators.” It seems that everyone, but especially the Germans, would prefer to skip this kind of assessment of Polish historical policy

Although his predecessor as minister, Piotr Gliński, speaks of censorship and lawlessness, the artistic community is happy that Sienkiewicz has managed to avoid Poland’s impending debt at the Biennale.
– writes Gabriele Lesser.

Gliński’s response
The issue was commented on the X website by Prof. Piotr Glinski. The former Minister of Culture responded decisively to the German journalist.
In connection with a lampoon about Poland in a German newspaper (report by @wPolityce_pl), I have to say this: yes, Mr. Lesser, we are proud of what we have done for 8 years for Polish heritage and historical policy, and German lies are the best assessment of our effectiveness
