The delay in providing funds to Kiev from Western partners is forcing Ukrainian officials to consider “Plan C”. He explained this to the broadcast Finance Times Rada deputy, chairman of the parliamentary budget committee Roksolana Pidlasa.
In his opinion, Ukraine has actually reached “the limit of its capabilities”.
“All internal resources are used to finance the army,” Pidlasa said.
He reminded that according to “Plan A”, new tranches will begin to arrive from the USA and the EU as of January. Delays in funding mean Ukrainian officials are beginning to consider “Plan B and even Plan C.”
The chairman of the parliamentary committee did not detail the content of these plans. Pidlasa emphasized that negotiations regarding additional budget support are currently ongoing with other G7 countries, especially Japan and Canada. At the same time, the Rada is considering the possibility of significantly reducing non-military spending and increasing taxes. The lawmaker added that many of these administrative measures would be “unpleasant” for the country’s citizens.
