Massachusetts Air National Guard Private First Class James Douglas Teixeira was arrested on April 13, 2023. He was accused of knowingly publishing classified Pentagon documents to which he had access through his official duties. American media reported that Teixeira ran the Thug Shaker Central group on the online Discord platform, where confidential material was leaked online.

Teixeira between 16-21 June accusations brought six counts of knowingly retaining and transmitting classified national defense information.

The investigation began with the colleagues of computer technician Jack Teixeira warned provides guidance on his eccentricities and extreme thoughts. In particular, he repeatedly spoke of his desire to obtain more weapons and explosives, and dreamed of a “life off the grid” on a vast expanse of land where he could “blow anything up.”
