There has been interference of GPS signals over Poland for several days and experts have no illusions that the Russian radar warfare system is behind this. The Kremlin’s propaganda, in turn, indicates that NATO systems are responsible for the disruptions occurring in Poland, and its main purpose is to mask NATO military maneuvers in our region.
Since the beginning of March, there have been problems with the GPS signal in many regions of Poland. The GPS Jam service, which continuously monitors the situation using reports from aircraft and their navigation systems, reported that GPS jams over the weekend covered not only Poland, but also much of the Baltic Sea, the Baltic states and a part of Finland.
Hybrid war
It is worth noting that the Institute for War Studies from the United States has previously reported on problems arising from the Russians’ use of the Borisoglebsk-2 radar warfare system, which is located in Koenigsberg Oblast.
Lieutenant Colonel of the Swedish Armed Forces Joakim Paasikivi also drew public attention to the fact that the disruption of the GPS signal is a kind of part of the hybrid war that Russia is waging. The Kremlin’s main goal in this regard is to disrupt NATO’s military exercises on its eastern flank.
