Education Minister Barbara Nowacka does not intend to make large financial declarations to teachers, because – as she emphasized – it is much worse financially than it seems. According to the head of the ministry, the reform will not be possible until 2026 at the earliest.
On Saturday, the Minister of Education took part in the 20th National Conference of Education Management Personnel in Krakow.
I will not make any major financial statements, because you yourself know the condition in which we find Poland, and I will tell you honestly: it is good that you think this way, because it is much worse. 200 billion (million PLN-PAP) spent on laptops without strategy, without use at school. 3D printers are used in every school, although not all of them are used. But there are enormous costs (…), irregularities
– said the head of the Ministry of National Education.
She emphasized that her goal was to improve the situation. Particularly important, she believes, is improving the relationship between teachers and staff.
As she has announced, she will do everything she can to ensure that curriculum changes are consulted with practicing teachers, and not just experts. Such consultation is intended, among other things, to: Educational Research Institute.
““The school won’t change without you”
Teachers’ opinions will be used in preparing and implementing educational reforms. Nowacka stressed that such a reform is not planned until 2026 at the earliest.
Because without you the school won’t change. But if there are bad changes, you will not accept them either
– the minister addressed education workers and gave the example of a textbook on history and the present (HiT), which was criticized by many teachers.
She announced, among other things: support for kindergarten teachers – the Ministry of National Education will apply for funds from the KPO for such support. She promised to invest in vocational education.
As she stated, the school in Poland will be a good, modern place, open to knowledge, showing history and building a sense of patriotism.
However, the biggest challenge, as the minister said, is ‘simply having teachers in schools’. According to her, it is important to invest in good training and preparation of teachers.
A good school depends on good teachers and it is the ministry’s priority that teachers feel good at school
– said Nowacka.
During the ceremony in Krakow, the minister officially appointed Gabriela Olszowska, who won the competition for this position last week, as education inspector of Małopolska.
Could it be that after Donald Tusk’s coalition came to power, the principle of ‘there is no money and there will be no money’ applies again?
