A court in the US state of Illinois has excluded former US President Donald Trump from the primaries (the state’s Republican primaries). This was reported by Chicago Sun Times.
District Judge Tracy Porter ordered the state election commission to remove the former president from the March 19 primary election, the release states.
The publication claims that the executive order will go into effect on Saturday, March 2, and before that date, Trump will have the opportunity to appeal the decision.
The judge explained that his decision cannot be final and that higher courts must make their own decision.
The Trump campaign responded to the decision by saying it was unconstitutional.
