Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that his country has been alone in resolving the ownership issue of Karabakh since 1996. This was reported on the agency’s Telegram channel. RBC.
On Wednesday, February 28, the politician made a statement in the Assembly of the Republic during government time. He noted that Yerevan lost support in the Karabakh issue in 1996. Armenian officials were later forced to veto a document submitted to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Assembly in Lisbon regarding the issue in question.
“We are used to a different regime. It seemed to us that we were not alone, but in many cases it turned out that we were alone,” Pashinyan said.
He added that the country had to use the veto precisely because of its loneliness. The head of the cabinet emphasized that this would not have happened in a different situation.
February 23 Pashinyan statedthat the republic has suspended its participation in the work of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). According to him, Yerevan took this decision because the structure did not fulfill its obligations towards the Armenian side.
Previously in Armenia clarified degree of “freezing” of the country’s CSTO membership.
