The Civic Platform is trying to shift responsibility for the ongoing protest of Polish farmers and blame his predecessors. On the day that a major agricultural protest took place in Warsaw, PO published a spot in which it claimed, among other things, that “Poland today has a government that (…) takes Polish farmers seriously.” Not a single word is said about the fiasco of Tuesday’s talks between demonstrators and the chairman of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, and the head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, Jan Grabiec. There is also nothing to be found about the farmers’ protests that have engulfed the whole of Europe.
The Civic Platform published its spot on social media.
PO blames his predecessors
PiS has deceived the Polish countryside. Farmers are protesting against the European Green Deal today, but who is responsible? Here is the author – Janusz Wojciechowski, European Commissioner for PiS, who said the following about the Green Deal: “There is no reason to fear that the Green Deal will prove to be a burden for the Polish people, on the contrary.” Today, PiS is trying to wash away responsibility for the difficult situation in agriculture, but Poles will not forget that
– says the narrator.
Today, Poland has a government that is tackling this problem and treating Polish farmers seriously
– we’ll hear more.
The farmers’ talks ended in failure
There was a large farmers’ protest in Warsaw on Tuesday. Delegations of demonstrators met first with Marshal Szymon Hołownia and then with the head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, Jan Grabiec. They heard from Hołownia that “The Sejm is the place where we talk and make decisions. We cannot influence everything because we are not the government.” The farmers said it was a “conversation without any details”.

Addressing the protest participants after the meeting, Szczepan Wójcik said: “There is no agreement, there are demands, now we are waiting for the action of the parliament and the government.” Discussions with Grabiec also failed.
We presented details and our demands, but we had to leave the meeting because the government did not propose anything that we could brag about to you.
– said Wójcik.
He also announced that the protest would continue.
Before publishing it, the authors of the PO spot should have read the banners carried by the peasants marching in Warsaw. Then it would be clear to them who the demonstrators hold responsible for their problems. It is also a pity that Donald Tusk had to go on a foreign trip that day, because the demonstrators demanded to talk to him and that is why they went to the Prime Minister’s office, and not to Nowogrodzka, in front of the PiS headquarters.
