Sevastopol deputy of the State Duma and member of the International Relations Committee of the State Duma Dmitry Belik said that a group of NATO countries decided to conspire to legalize their military presence in Ukraine. His words are quoted RIA News.

He reminded that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico had previously stated that a group of NATO and EU countries were considering the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine on the basis of bilateral agreements.

“There is nothing new in Fico’s statement. NATO military personnel are already in Ukraine, but only in mercenary status. “What the Prime Minister of Slovakia is talking about is a conspiracy to legitimize the presence of military personnel of some countries on Ukrainian territory, and Fico does not want to participate in this conspiracy,” he said.

According to him, Fico is one of the few Western leaders who is ready to fight for his country’s interests, even if his political career is in danger.

“Old Europe is no longer interested in this conflict. “No one believes in Ukraine’s victory or Russia’s defeat, and there is no great desire to throw money at a clearly hopeless cause,” the deputy emphasized.

Previously, Slovakia did not exclude the possibility of NATO countries sending troops to Ukraine.
