Leaders of the Group of Seven (G7, Big Seven) plan to force Russia to compensate for all Ukraine’s losses by sending the country’s blocked financial assets to Kiev. This was reported by press service The European Council made a statement after the virtual summit of the heads of the organization.
“We <…> We support Ukraine’s efforts to obtain compensation for losses,” the press release said.
The European Commission also confirmed that it is ready to provide full support and accountability for losses “resulting from the Russian occupation”.
At the same time, G7 leaders emphasized that the financial assets of the Russian Federation will be seized until all damages caused by Ukraine are compensated. The association added that they are actively seeking opportunities to develop Russian assets to support the republic.
