“Meetings of Free Poles” – under this banner, Law and Justice invites today at 4:30 PM to a meeting of Lublin residents with former ministers, MPs Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik, at the Lublin Center for the Meeting of Cultures. “I have no doubt that this is yet another, and I have no illusions that this will be the last political revenge, inspired by the current government coalition with Donald Tusk’s enormous endorsement of such action,” MP Maciej Wąsik told the portal wPolityce.pl. just before the meeting, commenting on yesterday’s ruling in a defamation suit brought against him by the Open Dialog Foundation.
On the way to the aforementioned meeting, PiS MP Maciej Wąsik commented on the rejection of yesterday’s appeal against the Warsaw District Court ruling regarding defamation accused of him by the Open Dialog Foundation. The court ordered the politician to apologize and pay PLN 10,000. PLN with interest in FPS, Ludmiła Kozłowska and the Chairman of the Board of the Foundation Bartosz Kramek.

In Poland everyone is entitled to their own opinion
I don’t feel guilty. I strongly disagree with this assessment. I will appeal against this judgment to the Supreme Court
– assured MP Wąsik and recalled that he still had an appeal in cassation.
Some of the things I was accused of were not statements of fact, but opinions. In Poland everyone is entitled to their own opinion. They want to take this away from us immediately
– explains.
Moreover, all journalists – including journalists from the wPolityce.pl portal – who wrote articles on this topic, and the Open Dialog Foundation filed criminal cases against them, and they won them. And I only said what had already been said and published in the media. I have cited sources. Moreover, your people – Marek Pyza, Marcin Wikło and Wojciech Biedroń – won their trials in spectacular fashion.
– he says to illustrate how prejudicedly he and, among others, are treated in Poland. MP Mariusz Kamiński Polish courts.

Legal action and political revenge
How does the PiS MP explain this bias?
Our ability to seek justice in the courts is limited due to the negative attitude of a certain section of the judicial community towards the efforts to reform the legal system undertaken by Law and Justice during his rule.
– he answers.
Isn’t he afraid that his appeal and cassation will not change the court’s decision, and that perhaps more manifestations of their intimidation will appear?
They will certainly be there and the current government has announced it. The parliamentary majority has put together a team whose aim is to handle these types of reports. I have no doubt that this is yet another, and I have no illusions that this will be the last political revenge inspired by the current ruling coalition, with Donald Tusk’s strong endorsement of such action.
– judges.
“‘Poland does not forget us’
Fortunately, we know, and we have proof at almost every step, that the Poles have not forgotten us and will not. We really appreciate that they already took care of us when Tusk and Hołownia threw us in prison. This alone gives us great hope and strength to act. We will also talk about this at the meeting in Lublin
– says Maciej Wąsik.
