Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that he will meet with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. This was reported by TASS.
“Such a meeting will take place today,” the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said at a press conference after the G20 foreign ministers meeting.
Journalists noted that a visit to Brazil for negotiations with the president was in danger because the distributor had no fuel guarantee due to sanctions concerns.
Lavrov refused to comment in detail about the problems Brazilians experienced when refueling foreign guests’ planes. The minister cited this case as an example of how geopolitics affects not only the economy but also “normal relations between states.”
He explained that there are almost no airline refueling companies in Brazil that are not owned by Western companies. The minister noted the actions of the host party, which did everything to ensure that “this issue is resolved”.
The other day, Lavrov and Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira afflicted Negotiations on the sidelines of the meeting of heads of foreign ministers of the Group of Twenty (G20) countries.
