I have decided to join the Civic Coalition parliamentary club – Senator Krzysztof Kwiatkowski announced on Thursday during a joint conference with Senate Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska and the head of the KO parliamentary club Zbigniew Konwiński. Kwiatkowski resigned from PO in 2013 when he took over as head of the audit office.
Kwiatkowski returns to PO structures
Senator Krzysztof Kwiatkowski emphasized during the press conference that he has been an “independent and impartial” senator for the past five years.
I have tried to use this time as best as possible to work for the citizens
– added.
Today, the challenges Poland faces are different. The geopolitical situation surrounding our country has changed. For any responsible politician, this must be central to the choices he makes. This is a clear need to act in a larger community. That’s why I decided to join the Civic Coalition parliamentary club
– he said.

Laurel for the senator
The Marshal of the Senate, Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, said that this was very good news, because – in her opinion – there is no other senator who is as substantive, hardworking and legally expert as Kwiatkowski.
We are happy that he is joining our club
– emphasized the President of the Senate.
The head of the KO parliamentary club, Zbigniew Konwiński, recalled that the KO club in the Senate consisted of 41 senators so far, and Krzysztof Kwiatkowski will be the 42nd.
He added that the KO club is the largest club in the Senate.
I am very pleased that the KO parliamentary club is being strengthened by such an experienced parliamentarian, a lawyer whom I have known personally for a long time. (…) I am happy that Krzysztof responded positively to our invitation, which will make the KO club even stronger in the Senate
– he said.
According to information on the Senate website, Kwiatkowski has a master’s degree in law, has also completed postgraduate studies in control and auditing and management, and has also completed controller training.
In the years 1997-2001 he was personal secretary to Prime Minister Jerzy Buzek. From 1993 he was associated with the local government and until 2006 he held the position of vice-president of Zgierz.
In the 2007 parliamentary elections he was elected senator for PO. In 2009 he became State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice. The same year, he was appointed Minister of Justice and Attorney General in the first government of Donald Tusk.
