“Farmers are simply afraid of the huge influx of Ukrainian agricultural products to the markets of European Union countries,” President Andrzej Duda said in an interview for Ukrainian television Suspilne.
The President referred to the issue of farmers’ protests in Poland and the entire European Union.
These protests right now – you could describe it this way – are actually coming from all over the European Union. Farmers are simply afraid of the huge influx of Ukrainian agricultural products to the markets of European Union countries. They believe that this must be controlled because they simply fear for their existence
– he said.
Andrzej Duda drew attention to the consequences of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
They fear for their existence and demand that the European Union settle this issue at Brussels level. Negotiations on this are currently ongoing. This is indeed a difficult issue. The problem with Ukrainian food actually arose from Russian aggression against Ukraine. Let us not forget this: Russian aggression against Ukraine is the cause of everything. No one else. If there had been no Russian aggression against Ukraine, the problem would not have arisen at all
– he said.
There has never been a situation where Poland closed itself to agricultural products from Ukraine. Yes, as a result of the crisis in our market and the drastic drop in prices of agricultural products – including grain – Poland closed the internal market for Ukrainian grain, but it did not block the possibility of grain transit through Poland
– explained the president.
When asked about the situation of farmers after the possible accession of Ukraine to the European Union and the country’s participation in the EU common market, he replied:
I hope that Ukraine’s future membership in the European Union will be legally regulated on the basis of accession principles that will also responsibly protect the markets of European countries.

Ukraine’s victory
The President of the Republic of Poland also referred to the issue of Ukraine’s possible victory in the war with Russia. He described exactly what he meant by victory.
“She won” means two things to me. First, Ukraine must regain control of all its internationally recognized territories. Including – of course – the Luhansk and Donetsk districts and Crimea
– said Andrzej Duda.
