“By protesting against the Green Deal, farmers are defending all Europeans. The Green Deal will bring poverty and the collapse of industry, agriculture and other economic sectors to the people of the European Union, including Poland,” Beata Szydło, MEP for Law and Justice, emphasized on social media. She referred to the protests of farmers opposing the EU’s agricultural policy.
Recently, farmers in both Poland and other EU member states have protested against new EU regulations introduced as part of agricultural and climate policies. They oppose, among other things, low prices for its products, high production costs and limits on nitrogen emissions in agriculture.
The European Green Deal aims to implement an ecological transformation and, as a result, achieve climate neutrality by 2050. The package of policy initiatives that has been prepared covers several areas, including industry, transport, energy, environment, climate and agriculture.
The Green Deal will make Europeans poorer, the European economy less competitive and European agriculture in decline. Farmers already know, that’s why they’re protesting
– explains the PiS member in a recording published on the X platform.
As he emphasizes, “they also protest and defend the economy and the jobs of everyone across Europe.”
We must remember this and support them. It is not just about agriculture, but about the entire future of the European Union. If we want to support European agriculture, if we want to support the European economy and our future, we must support the farmers’ protests now
– Szydło appeals.
