The All-Polish Youth Association is against the changes in education announced and approved by the Minister of National Education, Barbara Nowacka. The association champions the current content taught by the school, including: in history lessons.
On Monday, MW Vice President Arkadiusz Jabłoński said at a press conference in front of the Ministry Building in Warsaw that the association strongly opposes the proposed changes in the education system and the traditional approach to religion.

Dilution of national identity
In the statement read by Jabłoński, the Warsaw Ministry board ruled that the changes are contrary to Polish national identity and historical truth, and that the project was prepared without a deeper understanding of its objectives in education. According to MW, the changes do not represent anything constructive, they are aimed at promoting ideological trends, they ignore historical facts and the heroism of the Polish nation.
The proposed changes are intended to blur national identity and cut off modern man from the pillars of Western European civilization. The wording of the introduction to the core history curriculum in primary schools is alarming, as it completely abandons expressions about national identity in favor of slogans about citizenship and respect for the state, without specifying exactly which state is involved.
– we could hear it.
According to the association, it is unacceptable, among other things, that downplaying the importance of the heroism of the Polish national act, the importance of religion in Polish history and “removing the documents about the Polish legions, the cursed soldiers and the uprising of the allies of the bar”.
What about Volhynia?
In the issue of the Volhynian massacre, it is important that the data on the real scale is removed and these events are labeled as a conflict, which wrongly suggests that both sides fought on an equal footing. The deletion of the term Eastern Borderlands in favor of Lesser Poland and Volhynia is an attempt to blur in the minds of Poles the fact that Volhynia was an integral part of Poland.
– noted Jabłoński.
MW appealed to Nowacka “for a deeper understanding of educational issues and Polish history to avoid manipulation of facts and violation of national identity.
We appeal for support for real education, based on wisdom and historical knowledge, and not on ideological trends
– Jabłoński noted in a statement.
