Tomasz Rakowski will be the Law and Justice candidate for the President of Gdańsk – representatives of this formation were announced at a press conference. “He is someone who knows the residents’ problems very well and knows how to find an effective solution to them,” emphasizes Anna Fotyga, PiS MEP and former Minister of Foreign Affairs. The candidate was supported by local government officials and parliamentarians.
Rakowski is a candidate for the presidency of Gdańsk
During the press conference, Law and Justice MPs announced that the formation’s candidate in the local elections for the President of Gdańsk will be Tomasz Rakowski.
Our candidate was Tomasz Rakowski, an IT specialist, manager and efficient entrepreneur who has been operating in Gdańsk for many years within the framework of Law and Justice.
– announced former government spokesman Piotr Müller.
He added that Rakowski “is a very active person who wants to change Gdańsk, improve its functioning and look at social issues.”
The candidate, who is the PiS representative in the Gdańsk district, emphasized that “Gdańsk is a great and beautiful city that requires a great and beautiful vision.” According to him, this vision should be more than just “patching the roads with eternal potholes”, and Gdańsk needs a “real host”. Its president, he emphasized, should put the city first.
Rakowski is an entrepreneur. He runs an IT company, which he says is a car.
I come from the business world where you try to solve a problem, not make excuses. From a world where money is respected
– he said.
He assured that he would start the election campaign in the coming days and planned to visit all districts of Gdańsk.
A candidate who knows the problems faced by residents
Tomasz is someone who knows the residents’ problems well and knows how to find effective solutions. I highly recommend this candidate!
– emphasizes MEP Anna Fotyga.
An excellent candidate for the presidency of Gdańsk
— also wrote MP Marcin Horała.
An alternative to the system
According to MP Jarosław Sellin, who also took part in the candidate’s presentation, it is important to provide the people of Gdańsk with “an alternative to the social and political system”. According to him, this arrangement has governed the city for a quarter of a century.
This is quite a dangerous situation for any government if this system functions permanently and unchangeably
– he emphasized and added that this gives rise to various pathologies and connections between the world of local politics, business and the legal system.
It would be good if what is a value in democracy, namely the fluidity of power and showing alternatives to this power, including local power, could become a reality in Gdańsk.
– he pointed out.
Tomasz Rakowski is 42 years old. He is the PiS representative in Gdańsk District (Gdańsk and Sopot). He is an IT specialist by profession. He runs his own company. He stood as a candidate in the 2019 and 2023 parliamentary elections.
