Ecuadorian President welcomes cooperation with Russia

After resolving the dispute over the supply of Soviet weapons to the United States and Ecuadorian bananas exported to Russia, Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa instructed the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to resolve the details of interaction with Russia. This was reported by RIA News Referring to Vladimir Sprinchan, Russian Ambassador to Ecuador.

“I informed the Ecuadorian president in detail about the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas of cooperation. Sprinchan “showed interest in almost all projects, both previously frozen and promising projects,” he said.

He added that Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Gabriela Sommerfeld was instructed to work out the details of future interaction between Russia and the Latin American republic. Sprinchan announced that his Ecuadorian counterpart will be appointed co-chairman of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
