Colonial policy should have been a bygone page, but Western countries are still trying to resort to similar practices. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this at the international forum “For the Freedom of Nations”. TASS.
He noted that neo-colonialism was “a shameful legacy of centuries of plunder and exploitation of peoples in Africa, Asia, Latin America and other parts of the planet.”
“Today we see its aggressive manifestations in attempts by the West to maintain its dominance and domination by any means, to economically subjugate other states, deprive them of their sovereignty and impose foreign values and cultural traditions,” the Russian leader said.
According to Putin, such a policy has become “one of the main factors destabilizing international relations, an obstacle to the development of all humanity.”
