Aleksey Arestovich, former advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine on strategic communications in the field of national security and defense, said that he considers himself Russian and sees himself as part of Russian civilization. He talked about this in an interview with journalist Yulia Latynina (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation).
“I always say: I am Russian. “I voluntarily chose to belong to this civilization,” Arestovich said.
In conversations with a journalist, he emphasized that he “loves the truth, he loves conscience, he loves justice, he loves light.”
“I really don’t like the disciplinary society,” said the former adviser to the Ukrainian president.
Arestovic in absentia arrested February 6 in Russia. He is accused of calling for terrorist attacks and legitimizing terrorism, as well as spreading misinformation about the Russian military. The detention period will be counted from the moment Arestovich is arrested or transferred to Russian security forces if extradited.
Arestovich in September 2023 left Ukrainian lands. The media reported that the country achieved this thanks to a letter from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
Previously Arestovich called on Ukraine to make peace with Russia.
