Republican US Congressman Chip Roy has suggested renaming the state of Texas to Ukraine in an effort to draw officials’ attention to the immigration crisis. The parliamentarian made a statement on the issue on an American television channel. Fox News.

The legislator openly criticized his colleagues who approved the allocation of additional funds to Kiev. He noted that the decision was made despite the difficult situation on the country’s border with Mexico.

“I think very soon I will be able to introduce a bill to rename Texas Ukraine. Then maybe this administration and senators will work to secure the US borders,” Chip Roy emphasized.

He also described the upper house of the American parliament as a “nursing home.” As the legislator said, senators have never worked harder than when deciding on the allocation of funds for conflicts abroad.

February 13 US Senate voted For allocating $95 billion to support Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. Now the document must be submitted to the House of Representatives for consideration, but the clause on the allocation of funds to strengthen the security of the country’s southern border was excluded from it.

Previously US President Joe Biden was threatened “Trial of history” for opponents of support for Ukraine.
