The National Electoral Commission rejected the report of one of the parties founded by Michał Kołodziejczak, claiming that it could have obtained illegal money – Rzeczpospolita reported on Thursday.
The newspaper notes that no answers have been given to the questions asked to the party.
This therefore justifies the suspicion that the party acquired all its assets from unauthorized sources during the reporting period.
– these are the strongest sentences from the National Electoral Commission’s resolution on law-abiding Poland adopted on Monday.
The National Electoral Commission has rejected its 2022 financial report. Legal Poland is the oldest party of Michał Kołodziejczak, deputy minister of agriculture from Agrounia. Initially the party was called Agrounia. It was included in the register in March 2022 and in June 2023 it changed its name to Poland Rule of Law. Subsequently, Michał Kołodziejczak was replaced as president by his cousin Piotr Kołodziejczak
– emphasizes the everyday.
Along the way, as he notes, the Agrounia community created three other parties: Ruch Społeczny Agrounia TAK, Stable Poland and Społeczny Interes, and in the end none of them took part in the elections, because Kołodziejczak and a group of activists ended up on the list. of the Citizens Coalition.
Today’s resolution of the National Electoral Commission casts serious doubts on the functioning of the first of these parties. In the past, the National Electoral Commission often rejected reports from different parties due to minor violations, but a year ago the Sejm amended the regulations to introduce margins for permissible errors in financial matters. Today, rejecting the report can be considered a nuclear option, although in the case of parties that do not receive subsidies, such as Law and Order Poland, this does not lead to serious financial or legal consequences.
– we read in the newspaper.
Does Kołodziejczak’s party have something to hide?
Why did the National Electoral Commission reject the report from Kołodziejczak’s party? One reason was doubt whether the party had shown the full bank account history. She provided a statement for the period from December 6 to December 31, 2022, while she was already registered in March. As the PKW writes, Polska Rule of Law did not attach all required documents to the report, including the account agreement, + therefore it is not possible to determine whether the history attached to the report (…) reflects the history of the entire term of this account+. Second, according to the National Electoral Commission, the party did not explain its activities in 2022, “making it impossible to determine the actual income/receipts and payments into the party’s bank account.”
– emphasized.
According to the newspaper, the National Electoral Commission writes that it has asked the party questions, including: on what basis it used the building in Sieradz and whether it incurred the costs for any meetings or printing.
The letter sent to the party’s address with the requested acknowledgment of receipt was not received and was returned to the sender with the indication “Not received on time”
— reports the newspaper PKW. He adds that there was no response to the email, although “the party’s attorney confirmed in a telephone conversation that he had received and read the emailed questions.”
On this basis, the National Electoral Commission assumes that the party has obtained money and property from unauthorized sources, for example from abroad, and collected them outside a bank account, which is also illegal. The National Electoral Commission also noted that the party did not publish mandatory registers of contracts and payments online
– adds “Rzeczpospolita”.
