The current mayor of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, will run for mayor in the April elections with the support of the All for Gdańsk association and the Civic Coalition. It was announced that both groups would draw up a joint list of candidates for the Gdańsk City Council.
Is the dispute with PiS a “crisis and a challenge”?
A press conference of members of the All for Gdańsk association and the Civic Coalition was held in front of the Neptune Fountain in the city center, at which it was announced that joint lists of candidates for the local government elections had been drawn up. It was also announced that Aleksandra Dulkiewicz would run for re-election with the support of the Civic Coalition.
Over the past five years, the coalition that rules our city has guided it safely and efficiently through all crises and challenges. This includes: covid, war in Ukraine, dispute with Law and Justice
– said Piotr Borawski (KO), Vice President of Gdańsk.
He noted that “a stable coalition will continue to work with President Aleksandra Dulkiewicz and partners: PO, Everything for Gdańsk, Nowoczesna and Inicjatywa Polska.” He stressed that a joint electoral list would be drawn up to “win the local elections on April 7”.
Gdańsk’s Second Vice President Piotr Grzelak (All for Gdańsk) stated that both groups were united by “the synergy of communities, real people, experienced councilors and local activists, associations and non-governmental organizations.”
We will go to victory together. The negotiations were not easy, it was an important discussion about the city’s vision, which we have been implementing consistently for five years
– said Grzelak.
Dukiewicz wants to present ideas for 5 years
Aleksandra Dulkiewicz quoted the words written on the Golden Gate: “with agreement small republics grow – with disagreement great republics fall.”
I think this maxim guides us
– she added. She noted that the election campaign started in which “we want to show what ideas we have for the next five years.”
Thanks to the victory in the October (parliamentary) elections, our city has a chance for further development. We want to push Gdańsk and the entire region even further to be more resilient to the challenges and crises that may arise.
– said Dukiewicz.
In the local elections the following people will come from the joint lists: Aleksandra Dulkiewicz (WdG), Piotr Borawski, Piotr Grzelak, current chairman of the municipal council Agnieszka Owczarczak (KO), chairman of KO in the municipal council Cezary Śpiewak-Dowbór and Łukasz Bejm (KO).
On Monday, the election committee ‘Common Path’, founded by three groups: Polska 2050, New Left and urban movements, also announced a start of one list for the Gdańsk City Council. Gdańsk was created by its inhabitants. It has not yet been announced who will be their candidate for the presidency of Gdańsk.
Law and Justice politicians have also not presented their candidate for mayor.
