“President Trump has expressed this tone many times,” Marcin Mastalerek said on Radio Zet, commenting on the former US president’s words about countries not supporting NATO at the right financial level.
The head of the office of the President of the Republic of Poland said in Radio Zet that we were dealing with “an outrageous tweet from Prime Minister Donald Tusk, which unfortunately undermined Poland’s policy towards America.”
So far, there is consensus that it is in our interest that whoever governs in the United States and whoever governs in Poland, our relations are strategic. And Prime Minister Donald Tusk undermined this principle due to his use of Twitter and a short-lived political fight on social media.
– said the head of the President’s office.
When asked if Tusk was simply not writing the truth that Republicans should be ashamed of themselves, Mastalerek said:
Donald Tusk has offended half of the American political scene, and we’ll have an election there in a year. We don’t know which candidate will become president. President Andrzej Duda is working in the opposite direction of Prime Minister Tusk, so he can work with any future president
– pointed out the politician.
These are irresponsible words and Prime Minister Tusk should never do this. He should imitate Andrzej Duda’s policies
– he pointed out.

Trump’s words
Referring to the much-discussed words of Donald Trump, Mastalerek recalled the actions of this politician years ago.
President Trump has voiced this tone many times. We remember the words when he spoke to the Germans about trade with the Russians, building Nord Stream II and that the Americans would defend them for that. He is consistent in this
– he said.
If Trump, in his typical style of a very good and proven businessman, mobilizes some countries, he has done it many times before. (…) These words did not refer to Poland
– added.
