The fur industry “will not be affected in any way at this time,” Deputy Agriculture Minister Michał Kołodziejczak announced on WP. He emphasized that no government projects have been prepared today. However, a Civic Coalition project has been submitted by MP Małgorzata Tracz. Parliament has set up a special fur farming ban team, which started work on the Tracz project a week ago. He must introduce a complete breeding ban in five years.
During Sunday’s meeting as part of the local government election campaign, Donald Tusk said in Morąg that he hoped to reach an agreement on fur farming.
No one will plow any industry
– said Kołodziejczak, adding that “we have much more important topics now.”

Kołodziejczak’s sayings
Kołodziejczak’s statement is contrary to the facts. A team has been established in the Sejm whose aim is to implement a ban on breeding and breeding of animals for fur, which is dictated by many economic, social, environmental, epidemiological and ethical factors. There is also a draft law on this issue, prepared by the head of the team, MP Małgorzata Tracz. Work on the project has just begun.
Please don’t look for differences. The sector will not be affected in any way at this time
– he said. When asked by a journalist whether this would change later, the State Secretary said that he had not expected this to happen.
He wants to solve the most important problems, not look for replacement topics
– Kołodziejczak concluded.
The bill by KO MP Małgorzata Tracz assumes that entities and farmers carrying out activities in the field of breeding or breeding of fur animals on the date of entry into force of the law can carry out such activities until January 1, 2029 on the basis of existing provisions. This means the introduction of a five-year transition period for approximately 363 companies included in the register of the Chief Veterinary Inspectorate, 14 of which have the status of suspended activity.
Compensation is provided for entities and farmers engaged in breeding or raising fur animals on the date of entry into force of the law, including compensation for loss of property, without the benefits that the entity or farmer could have obtained if the loss had not had taken place.
