First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said that Moscow and Washington are still far from maintaining a substantive dialogue on strategic stability. His words are quoted RIA News.

The diplomat noted that American officials were deliberately destroying the stability agreement system by withdrawing from relevant agreements. Thus, the United States undermined trust in the Russian Federation, which existed only at certain moments in history.

“And now, among so many existing problems, they are trying to highlight certain aspects that particularly concern them.” <…>. They try to leave everything else out of the question,” Polyansky explained.

At the same time, he emphasized that it is now necessary to re-establish the entire system of agreements on strategic stability. Additionally, the parties need to understand the goals and objectives of this process.

The diplomat added that no one will move in the direction determined by the USA without fulfilling these conditions.
