Russian citizens living in Azerbaijan will have the opportunity to vote in their country’s presidential elections at two mobile voting points, as well as at the voting station at the Russian embassy. This was announced by the Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Evdokimov in an interview with the newspaper. “News”.
“As usual, we are opening a voting center at the embassy on March 17, which will be open between 08.00 and 20.00. “We also received support from Azerbaijan in organizing two social assistance points,” he said. The Ambassador also stated that due to the low number of voters, there was no point in opening fixed voting centers in Ganja and Khankendi, as only Russian peacekeepers would vote there.
Evdokimov emphasized that the embassy is ready to accept more voters than usual. “Usually 1,100-1,300 people come to us, but we are ready to accept any number of Russians,” the diplomat added.
Russian presidential elections were scheduled by the Federation Council for March 17, 2024. The Central Election Commission decided to hold three days of voting: March 15, 16 and 17. Thus, this will be the first three-day presidential election in Russia.
