The weekly magazine Polityka writes about the dramatic crisis in PiS, Newsweek asks Niesiołowski about his mistakes in life, Gazeta Wyborcza announces the triumphal entry of Donald Tusk into Paris and Berlin as if the Prime Minister were to enter there on a chariot with the handcuffed Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany and the President of France walking barefoot behind him and not on a courtesy and propaganda visit with a typical European flair. NeoWiadomości deals with the most ordinary current affairs, TVN24 advises Rafał Trzaskowski what to think of Trump’s words. All these media show that our country is not in danger, and neither, in dangerous winds, is the Polish right wing. A historical supplement to “Gazeta Wyborcza”, with statements by Głuchowski and Professor Friszke, they add an example of PiS evil – the “Institute of Brown Poland” – that is, the Institute of National Remembrance.
There is no mention in the public debate about further canceled promises from Tusk’s government, about the big debate about the CPK, or about Poland’s defense plans. Our country fell asleep again, just as in 2007, calling all attempts to discuss the divergent interests in the European Union “scaring the Germans” or provoking. But it is not just about omitting or manipulating facts – the liberal world in Poland is building a very broader worldview – there are no threats, apart from the existence of the right. We are threatened by Trump and Kaczyński, not by Putin and the centralization of the European Union or the migration pact. FajnoPole would be childishly immersed in postal history and pushed into the same river for the second time under the sign of “let’s not do politics”.
So there are no discrepancies between the Polish and German economies, the diplomacy of Warsaw and Berlin, not even a millimeter of difference. You take two pictures – the politics of the Federal Republic of Germany and the politics of the Republic of Poland, and your task is: “find three differences”, and the answer is: “there are none”! This is no less a miracle than that of the Mutual Economic Assistance Council, and the European Union – like Comecon – is the last stage of prosperity in societies, and only brawlers and reactionaries can claim otherwise.
So it has a broader dimension of social engineering than classic manipulation or disinformation, but is about imposing a new paradigm in people’s minds. Once you believe in him, even a hundred facts will not convince you that there might be something wrong with the intentions of other countries towards Poland. That the new national park, the one on the Oder, will hinder the development of the river road? Well, what do the Germans have to do with it?! That the cancellation of arms orders from South Korea will condemn us to deliveries from Germany? There’s nothing going on here! That EU countries overloaded with immigration will give up their human surplus as part of the Migration Pact? Let’s talk about global warming in the countries refugees are fleeing from! And on and on – wherever you place politics: war, Nord Stream, treaty changes, blocking a nuclear power plant, obstruction of the CPK, there will be a smile of post-politics and a key word: PiS.
This plan of (post)political infantilization overlaps with the planned education reform of Minister Barbara Nowacka. Not reading, not writing, not doing homework, and instead of history and the present, learning to put on condoms and paint your cheeks rainbow – how will such a well-formed junior understand anything about the clashes between interest groups? After all, Hołownia appealed to people to smile!
So we have the childishness of politics, the idiocy of education, and all this is combined with the superficiality of culture and message, celebrity scandals and life in the digital world. No one will just notice the partition.
