Although democracy in Poland has survived difficult times, the transfer of power is not going smoothly – Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Sunday at a meeting in Morąg (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship).
The transfer of power from those who lost the elections to the coalition that won the elections is not going smoothly – to say the least
– said Tusk.

Rhetorical tricks of the PO leader
As Tusk noted, the essence of democracy is that sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.
You lost, convince people and you come back to power.(…) And you have to respect the basic rule of the game: when there are elections, a change of government, you cannot question this fact.
– said the head of the government. As he added, “democracy means that everyone respects the common rules of the game, that everyone respects the rules of operation, that sometimes they lose and sometimes they win according to those rules.”
Donald Tusk also stated that he had been talking about disturbing phenomena at the border with Ukraine for two years.
I met farmers in Lower Silesia and they said they did not understand why there was such silence on this issue. On an issue that may or may not be a matter for Polish farmers, namely the competition from Ukrainian products that do not have to meet European standards
– Tusk pointed out.
As he emphasized, Poland, together with the Western community, must do everything possible to ensure that Ukraine does not lose the war with Russia, but at the same time we cannot allow inaccurate and ill-considered decisions to directly harm the interests of thousands of farmers. .
Tusk’s new clothes?
We must awaken European politicians and societies to a common, intensive defense policy, understood as joint investments. European money should also go to defence, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Sunday in Morąg (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship).
During the meeting with the residents of Morąg, the Prime Minister emphasized that the European Union “cannot be an economic and civilizational giant and a dwarf when it comes to defense issues, because the world has changed.”
Russia, China, Iran, North Korea – this is an axis that is somewhat reminiscent of the Cold War era. And what’s more, we have a hot war right on our borders. We cannot afford to take risks on this issue, just like Poland and Europe
– he said.
The head of government recalled that “the EU has an economy eight times larger than that of Russia”.
16 trillion euros – this is the income of the EU, while that of Russia is 2 trillion euros. And if we deduct the money that comes only from the sale of gas and oil, the Russian economy has no chance in a confrontation with the European one. The population is four or maybe five times that of the EU compared to Russia
– he pointed.
He added that Russia is “embroiled in a war with Ukraine, which is resisting with exceptional courage, which makes Russia weaker, not stronger.”
We must awaken European politicians and societies to a common, intensive defense policy, understood as joint investments. European money must also go to defense. We, as a country bordering Russia on the front, must make a gigantic effort, and it must be a joint effort. There can be no division here into left, right or center
– Tusk pointed out.
In a sense, the world is being shaken to its foundations – we all listen with great concern at times to the words of political leaders, for example in the United States, who wonder whether NATO will really be ready and, above all, whether the United States will will do. be ready for full solidarity with other NATO countries in this long confrontation with Russia
– said Tusk, referring to Donald Trump’s last famous statement.
According to the Prime Minister, a far-sighted policy is needed and the restoration of “possible good relations with everyone in the EU, without exception.”
If we want to influence them, they must respect us. They also need to understand that we really know what we are talking about. That’s one of the reasons why I’ll be in Paris and Berlin tomorrow. I want to rebuild the Weimar Triangle, that is, cooperation between Poland, Germany and France, as quickly as possible. This is important from a safety perspective. France has great nuclear potential and is therefore an important NATO state when it comes to the power struggle between the EU and Russia. We cannot trust anyone in Europe with this issue even an inch
– he said.
Donald Tusk’s words about the transfer of power bear the marks of insolence typical of the leader of the Civic Platform, clearly indicating the essence of his message. Taunts, verbal provocations, stigmatizing opponents: these are the characteristics of the policy endorsed by the old-new prime minister.
