“Farmers have an important position. This is a protest that comes from common sense and protection of the security of every society,” emphasized Marek Formela, editor-in-chief of “Gazeta Gdańska”, in “Salon Dziennikarski” on Telewizja in Poland, referring to the nationwide farmers’ protest.
National governments must take action
Farmers across Poland took to the streets to protest against, among other things, the introduction of the Green Deal and the influx of goods from Ukraine. Farmers from other EU countries are also expressing their opposition, including: Italy, Greece, Portugal and France.
According to Marzena Nykiel, EU governments must also take action.
Let’s hope this is a hard blow, a unification that will deliver results, even if there are no signs yet that the EU wants to back away from its crazy ideas. Providing security is one of the important areas of state security. What we have been struggling with for two years is starting to enter a new phase. Each country probably has different conditions for protests. It’s not just about EU regulations, we also have to deal with a flow of food from Ukraine. While it was important and obvious that we needed to help firsthand, we still needed to protect ourselves. This wave can help draw attention to farmers’ problems, but individual governments must also take action
– emphasized the editor-in-chief of the wPolityce.pl portal.
Part of a wider uprising
According to Marek Wróbel of the Republican Foundation, the farmers’ protests are part of a broader rebellion against the old EU elite.
I would consider the photographs of the Polish streets not in the national or agricultural and food context, but in the response of European societies, represented here by peasants, to various movements of the Eurocracy. This is an element of rebellion among ordinary people, which we also see in migration issues, a rebellion against the old elite – the political scene in Italy has been completely rearranged. And Germany? There was silence, the old parties guaranteed prosperity, and now that the AfD is growing, we also have three anti-system new parties, including left-wing conservatives – this is original, but it turns out that there is a demand for it. For me, farmers’ protests are a fragment of a bigger picture. We’ll see what happens in June
– said Marek Wróbel.
Attempts to make citizens addicted
Marek Formela, in turn, said that “Europeans are tormented by green chaos and fear of various threats, just as the pharaonic priests once feared a solar eclipse.”
We are talking about major geophysical processes over which humans have minimal influence. The history of the climate shows that humans have minimal influence on the movement of the Earth, the angle of inclination and the duration of sunlight. I have the impression that the European Parliament, the European Commission, the entire oligarchy of the 28th EU country, are spreading ecological threats, treating them as a new kind of dependence on citizens, restricting their freedom and forcing them into submission. This danger is much greater than natural climate change
– emphasized Formela.
Farmers occupy an important position. This is a protest based on common sense and protecting the safety of every society
– emphasized the editor-in-chief of “Gazeta Gdańska”.
