The Chancellery of the Sejm will analyze whether there has been a violation of the physical integrity of the Marshal’s guards, the Director General of the Office of the Chairman of the Sejm, Stanisław Zakrzywymski, announced. A group of PiS parliamentarians tried to introduce former CBA heads Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik to the Sejm, but the Marshal Guard prevented them from doing so. The Sejm has interrupted its proceedings; it will resume on Thursday at 9 am.
The Sejm Chancellery will analyze “very carefully any case in which the physical integrity of government officials, such as the Marshal’s guards, may have been violated,” said Stanisław Zakrzyczymski, director general of the Sejm Speaker’s Office. TVN 24.
We have often heard from President Kaczyński and countless PiS politicians “a wall behind the Polish uniform”. Mr. Marshal (Szymon Hołownia – PAP) will, in an exemplary manner, strictly enforce the rights and personal immunity of officers who today protected public order in the buildings of the Chancellery of the Sejm, without any aggression, without any provocation of their side, i.e. they carried out exactly what they were supposed to do under the Marshal Guard Law, adopted during the PiS government, and the Rules of Procedure of the Sejm
– said director Zakromsky.
On Wednesday, a group of PiS MPs tried to introduce former heads of the CBA, Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik, to the Sejm, which began its three-day session that day. Not recognizing that their parliamentary mandate has expired, they wanted to participate in the Sejm sessions. The Marshal’s Guard prevented them from doing so.
The same officers
When asked whether the officers of the current Marshal Guard are the same as guards in the Sejm of the previous term, Zakrzyczymski replied that Marshal Hołownia assumes that “there are no PiS officers, officers of another political party or officers of the Marshal of Hołownia . These are officers of the Republic of Poland.
Commander Michał Sadoń remains in office. There is full cooperation. The Marshal’s Guard, in accordance with the law and the rules of procedure of the Sejm, carries out the orders of the Marshal of the Sejm regarding the maintenance of order on the premises of the Sejm.
– he emphasized.
The Marshal’s Guard is a uniformed formation subordinate to the Chairman of the Sejm, created to protect the Sejm and the Senate. More than 200 people live there. The Marshal’s Guard is headed by a commander who, like his deputy, is appointed and dismissed by the head of the Chancellery of the Sejm.
