Russian Ambassador to Warsaw Sergei Andreev said that the intelligence services of Western countries are trying to recruit employees of Russian diplomatic missions in Poland. He stated this in an interview RIA News.

Andreev noted that Western intelligence agencies have approaches towards Russian employees. The ambassador emphasized that all these attempts were inconclusive and that the employees reacted “as expected”.

According to Andreev, the deportation by Polish authorities of 45 employees of the embassy, ​​trade mission and scientific and cultural center in March 2022 became the most sensitive situation for the work of Russian diplomats in Poland. Additionally, in April 2023, a school at the Russian embassy was illegally seized. However, the ambassador noted that Russian diplomats were able to regroup and mobilize to fulfill their duties in the new conditions and organize the full-fledged functioning of the school in the reserve building.

Andreev emphasized that in recent years, employees of Russian foreign institutions in Poland have become accustomed to working in rather special conditions. Therefore, they fulfill their duties accurately and completely.
