Israel’s new Ambassador to Moscow, Simone Halperin, expressed her dissatisfaction with Russia’s policies in the Middle East. He talked about this in an interview with the newspaper “Kommersant”.

According to the diplomat, the Russian leadership, including at the presidential level, has repeatedly stated that Israel’s security is Russia’s strategic interest. Unfortunately, Galperin noted, Israel saw that after October 7, this principle no longer applied to Moscow. Russia condemned the Hamas attack on Israel with a significant delay. In addition, Moscow does not yet recognize Hamas as a terrorist movement, on the contrary, it holds regular meetings and negotiations with its representatives.

The ambassador also said that Russia did not condemn Iran’s provocative actions and the Houthis’ obstruction of freedom of navigation in the Red Sea in the UN Security Council. Moscow also stands in solidarity with South Africa, which filed a “ridiculous case” against Israel at the International Court of Justice, accusing it of genocide against Palestinians.

According to Galperin, Russia, due to its position, loses the sympathy of Israeli residents, including Russian speakers.

Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu statedHe said the country’s government would not accept any deal with the Palestinian Hamas movement if it included the release of hostages “at any cost”.

Previously WHO stated About the “unprecedented” famine in the Gaza Strip.
