During the Congress of Polish Student Associations in Amsterdam, the chairman of the Sejm and leader of Poland 2050, Szymon Hołownia, spoke in favor of not punishing people for possessing marijuana for personal use. In addition, he expressed uncertainty about the possible general legalization of the marijuana trade.
Obviously, possession for personal use should be decriminalized in the first place. (…) The state really has other things to do than complain about the fact that there is a joint or two of marijuana here or there somewhere. This is my opinion, this is not the opinion of my party, this is not the opinion of the coalition, I just think from a completely rational point of view.
– he said Szymon Hołownia during the Congress of Polish Student Associations in Amsterdam, where he presented his views on the legalization of marijuana possession.
However, it is different when it comes to the relationship in which the state appears, and thus trade arises, and we must ask how this trade should be regulated. The question arises as to how the state should look at the fact that (…) there are different opinions of scientists about the addictive potential of this drug.
– he said.
Finally, Hołownia, in his style, avoided presenting a clear position on the legalization of the marijuana trade, calling for the umpteenth time on experts to speak on the issue.
First of all, I would expect experts to speak, not ideologues. Because we need to rationalize our approach to this subject
– he pointed out.
Szymon Hołownia’s party suddenly appeared in politics, just as Janusz Palikot’s party once appeared. It seems that more analogies can be drawn between the two politicians.
