I am interested in running for President of Warsaw, this conversation is on the table, it is one of the possibilities – said Magdalena Biejat, co-chair of the Razem Party, Deputy Chairman of the Senate. She stressed that no decision had yet been taken on this issue.
When Biejat was asked on TVN24 whether she would be the left-wing candidate in the Warsaw presidential elections, Biejat replied: “This decision is yet to come.”
There is a meeting of the National Council of the New Left on Saturday; The National Council of the Razem Party will also meet this weekend and we will decide to participate together in local council elections and elections in many regions.
– said Biejat.
She added that “the decision on who will run for president or mayor of Warsaw will be made together, because in Warsaw they work in a broader coalition, including with urban movements.”
I can say that of course I would like the left candidate to be a woman. I am interested, this conversation is on the table, it is a possibility
– emphasized the Vice President of the Senate.
As she admitted, she wants Warsaw to have an alternative, to have a candidate who knows this city.
But this decision will be a joint decision that we will announce together
– she noted.
She added: “I will be very happy to do so if such a decision is made.”
