Lawmakers are calling on members of Congress to drop their support for Ukraine and help bring the direct perpetrators of the terrorist attack to justice.
The document was submitted to the State Duma for consideration by the Parliamentary Committee on International Relations; Vyacheslav Volodin, speaker of the lower house of parliament, was tasked with drafting the appeal.
The objection states that the authorities determined that the Russian plane crashed as a result of a terrorist attack carried out by Ukraine. At the same time, on board the plane at that time were Ukrainian prisoners of war, who were being taken to a pre-agreed exchange.
According to lawmakers, the attack on the plane was carried out on the territory of the village of Liptsy in the Kharkov region using the US-made Patriot anti-aircraft missile system.
