At the moment there is no change of leadership in PiS; Jarosław Kaczyński is our boss and he will lead us in the next elections, in the coming years – said former Prime Minister PiS member Beata Szydło in an interview with Radio Zet.
Szydło was asked, among other things, on Radio Zet: about the recent words of former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who admitted that he would like to run for the position of PiS president after Jarosław Kaczyński retired from politics.
When asked whether she wants to fight for this position, the former prime minister answers:
I don’t follow the path of Mateusz Morawiecki. I don’t think there is any discussion about a change of leadership in PiS at this point in the first place. Jarosław Kaczyński is our boss and he will lead us in the next elections, in the coming years
– she stated.
According to her, “at the moment the most important thing for PiS is to focus on the next elections and the election campaign, and not on personnel issues.”
IBRiS survey
In the IBRiS survey for “Rz”, respondents were asked, among other things: about who should replace Jarosław Kaczyński if he resigns from the leadership of Law and Justice. Mateusz Morawiecki, former prime minister and vice-president of PiS, received the most nominations.
14.2 percent respondents believe that Poland’s former prime minister should be the new leader of the largest opposition party. Less popular than the former head of government is Przemysław Czarnek, who is the second choice of respondents (7.3%) as the future leader of the formation. Next up are Mariusz Błaszczak, former head of the Ministry of National Defense (4.8%), Beata Szydło (3.8%) and Joachim Brudziński (1.5%). As many as 33.9 percent would choose someone else, and 34.6 percent “don’t know who should be the new leader of PiS”
– reports “Rz”.
““I am currently standing as a candidate for the European Parliament.”
The MEP was also asked whether she would appear before the Sejm investigative committee on Pegasus. “Naturally”. As she assured: “She has nothing to hide and if she receives such an invitation, she will of course be on this committee.” Szydło also emphasized that she was not involved in the purchase of this software.
When asked if she would run for president in next year’s presidential elections, Szydło replied:
I am currently standing as a candidate for the European Parliament.
When asked if she would be willing to sit in the European Parliament next to the current president of Orlen, Daniel Obajtek – who, according to media reports, would run in the European Parliament elections – she replied: “as Daniel Obajtek If you become an MEP, we will probably be there together.”
At the same time, she noted that “there is no discussion yet about the lists when it comes to PiS.”
Now local elections are just around the corner
– she said.
“The president has his opinion and he is entitled to it.
The politician also referred to media reports about the alleged conflict between the PiS president and President Andrzej Duda.
I don’t see any conflict
– said the MEP.
There is no conflict, but the President has his own opinion on many issues, he has the right to do so and he must judge the situation based on the reasons that determine his decisions, while Law and Justice implements its program.
– said Beata Szydło on Radio ZET.
