‘We must arm ourselves strongly. Even beyond our economic capabilities, we must make a great effort,” Jarosław Kaczyński said at the meeting in Kielce.
The President of Law and Justice drew attention to the importance of Poland’s development and the possibility of catching up with stronger countries.
A few years of stagnation in Germany and our good development, and we will be close or able to catch up. Things are going well here. Things can go well, but only if effort is made. And it will be appropriate to spend money on science
– he said.
Defense
Jarosław Kaczyński drew attention to the need to strengthen the Polish army.
Nothing may matter if war breaks out and Poland becomes a frontline country that is undeterred and attacked. And Russia is consistent. The country has been at war with Ukraine for two years. She would drive for several days. She lost the first stage badly, but is still leading. The country has enormous resources and, despite sanctions, several options to obtain what it needs to wage war. The same will be the case if we are attacked. Someone will say that NATO is helping. Of course, but on one condition: we will be able to defend ourselves effectively and for a long time. Only if we can defend ourselves will we not be attacked. And this is the most important thing. We must arm ourselves strongly. Even beyond our economic capabilities, we must make a great effort
– he said.
The PiS president cited Israel as an example of adequate preparation.
A good example is Israel, which has an army that far exceeds its economic potential. It’s better to spend more and not get bombed than to spend less. And we have prepared such a program. I do not hide the fact that I only joined the government (…) to implement this program. It wasn’t easy. (…) I came in to break this “you can’t”; “procedures do not allow this”; “Everything has to be expensive”
– said Jarosław Kaczyński.
