The position of US senators from the Republican Party on possible agreements on further financing of Ukraine and strengthening control over the border between the United States and Mexico will most likely become clear in the next 24 hours. Speaking to reporters, the parliamentarian said, “I think Republicans will make a decision in the next 24 hours about whether they want to achieve something or leave confusion at the border for political reasons.”
He added that he continues to talk with his colleagues about a possible bipartisan agreement. At the same time, according to Murphy, many Republican senators are in favor of reaching an agreement.
The lawmaker also drew attention to a group of representatives of the Republican Party who do not want a deal. As he said, it was former President Donald Trump who persuaded lawmakers to take this position.
