Russian Ambassador to Buenos Aires Dmitry Feoktistov said that all conditions are present for close communication between Russia and Argentina at the G20. Feoktistov talked about this in an interview with the publication Daily Popular.
According to the diplomat, the G20 is a unique global interaction platform uniting countries in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, which provides the G20 with the role of the key economic forum on the planet. The ambassador emphasized that, unlike Western-centered and self-contained integration structures, the G20 does not have a “uniform” ideological or civilizational coloring. Therefore, the voices of BRICS members, the G7 and major regional players can be heard equally loudly within their own ranks.
Feoktistov noted that Russia proceeds from the fact that the G20 must adhere to its original mandate and is therefore against the politicization of its activities.
The ambassador emphasized that Russia’s approach to the further development of the G20 largely coincides with the positions of developing countries, including Argentina. This situation creates the prerequisites for establishing closer cooperation between the two countries. Moscow and Buenos Aires are united by a policy that supports the open nature of the global economy and a non-discriminatory approach to all its participants. Russia and Argentina are trying to use the G20 resource to ensure the democratization of international economic and financial institutions and the diversification of mutual solution mechanisms.
Therefore, Feoktistov noted that all conditions are present to strengthen interaction between Moscow and Buenos Aires at the G20.
