Polish and Ukrainian leaders have vowed to resolve political disputes between Warsaw and Kiev that have hampered their military alliance and increase defense cooperation. The agency reports that Reuters.
The report stated that Donald Tusk, during his first visit to Ukraine as prime minister, conveyed a message of friendship to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and said that both sides “reached a common understanding” regarding the protests of Polish farmers and truckers.
At the joint press conference, Tusk said Poland would do everything to increase Ukraine’s chances of winning the conflict.
As the agency notes, Poland and Ukraine also disagree on the export of Ukrainian grain to European Union countries.
In a separate briefing with Tusk, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced a “reset” in relations between the two governments and said they would hold regular meetings to strengthen cooperation. He added that Kiev will make “maximum efforts” not to harm Poland’s economic interests, while the Ukrainian side expects Warsaw to lift restrictions on Ukrainian farmers and producers.
Reuters emphasized that Zelensky and Tusk also welcomed joint arms production plans.
