Ukrainian refugees in the United Kingdom who are being asked to draft by the authorities of their home country are entitled to protection. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated this during a meeting with journalists in the capital of Uganda. RIA News.

We are talking about the adoption of a law on the deportation of refugees to Rwanda. Additionally, reporters asked the opinion of the head of an international organization about the possibility of conscription of Ukrainian immigrants.
The UN Secretary General noted that all refugees should be treated equally. As he noted, governments of all countries must comply with relevant regulations and legislation.
“That’s why we expressed our opposition to the agreement you mentioned,” Guterres emphasized.
He also called Uganda a “great example” of refugee protection. According to the head of the international organization, there are currently more than a million refugees from neighboring countries in the republic.
At the same time, the country’s authorities are taking measures to create similar living conditions for refugees and locals. Against this background, Guterres called on European politicians to study the example of Uganda.
Finally, the UN Secretary-General added that Ukrainian refugees have the right to protection. He explained that the same situation applies to immigrants from other countries.
