“This case is political, so Kamiński and Wasik are political prisoners. Only someone who does not observe the situation in the country may not notice it” – these words were spoken by… former Civic Platform parliamentarian Antoni Mężydło. As he emphasized in an interview with “Super Express”, he knows Mariusz Kamiński for years. “He is a ruthlessly ideological man,” he said.
Opposition members from the time of the Polish People’s Republic wrote to Bodnar
A few days ago, a powerful letter from oppositionists from the time of the Polish People’s Republic to Minister Adam Bodnar was published! Appealed to the Prosecutor General regarding the immediate suspension of the unlawfully imposed sentence by the Warsaw District Court on Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik.
We do not want political prisoners in Poland, let alone victims, of whom the communist regime had so many on its conscience, so we call for the immediate release of the imprisoned parliamentarians. Keeping them in prison, especially in the context of the initiated pardon process, will indicate not only political revenge, but also physical and psychological repression. We will never agree to the return of such repression. We have won a free, democratic Poland and we want it to stay that way
– we read in an open letter to Minister Bodnar, signed by, among others: Piotr Łukasz Andrzejewski, Adam Borowski, Maria Dłużewska, Zofia Romaszewska, Bronisław Wildstein, Krzysztof Wyszkowski.
Due to the initiation of the pardon proceedings by the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, we join his call for an immediate suspension of the execution of the sentence for the duration of these proceedings and call for them to be implemented as soon as possible possible. In light of the hunger protest that imprisoned MPs Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik have been conducting for several days, time is of particular importance for their health and even for their lives.
– wrote the authors of the letter. Former anti-communist oppositionists stressed that they do not agree with “flouting the rule of law and ignoring applicable regulations, such as the right to pardon of the President of the Republic of Poland, his exclusive prerogative, which applies to both imprisoned parliamentarians.”

Mężydło: “Kamiński and Wasik are political prisoners”
The signatories of this powerful letter include… Antoni Mężydło, long-time parliamentarian and recently former senator of the Civic Platform. In an interview with “Super Express”, the politician directly said that it was Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik “They are political prisoners.”
This case is political, so Kamiński and Wasik are political prisoners. Only someone who does not observe the situation in the country may not notice this. We would prefer to calm the internal disputes, but nothing is being done in this direction. Therefore, they should be released from prison. We must do everything we can to prevent an accident. I hope Donald Tusk understands this too
– said Mężydło.
Moreover, an oppositionist from the time of the Polish People’s Republic said that he had known him for years Mariusz Kaminski and that’s it “a man of absolute ideology”.
The CBA was founded to fight corruption. The Platform had no objection to Mariusz Kamiński being the head of this service
– said the former PO MP, recalling that this only changed after the gambling scandal came to light.
