Ukraine agreed with six European countries on gas transportation corridor

The management of Ukrainian gas transmission systems (GTS) and representatives of six European countries signed a memorandum of understanding on the creation of the South-North gas corridor. This was reported on the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian government.

“Gas transmission system operators from Ukraine, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova signed a memorandum of cooperation on the creation of the South-North corridor (“Vertical Corridor”),” the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers said.

The project envisages creating synergies between Greek gas terminals, the Trans-Balkan Pipeline, Ukrainian underground storage facilities and consumers in Central Europe.

As stated by the Ukrainian government, the agreement with European countries will allow the Ukrainian GTS Operator to supply more than 7 billion cubic meters of gas annually from Romania to Central European countries through Ukraine.
