In organized by the editor Dorota Kania meeting “Mariusz Kamiński. Maciej Wąsik – political prisoners he also participated in the headquarters of the Association of Polish Journalists Bronisław Wildsteinwriter, philosopher, columnist of the weekly magazine “Sieci”.
Discussing the case of imprisoning uncompromising state officials who have been fighting against pathologies and corruption for years, he recalled that as heads of the CBA they took actions for which they had obtained the authorization of the courts.
What else could they do? There was nothing more they could do. And for such acts they are convicted and sent to prison. I will no longer talk about Judge Łączewski, who convicted them and then withdrew from the appeal because it turned out that he was testifying untruths.
However, let us pay attention to the fact that in this situation every official, every state official, knows that if he violates a serious regulation, no matter how closely he follows the procedures, he can end up in prison. And everyone knows what impact this has on the mentality of police officers and other government services
– said Wildstein. And he asked about the purpose of this persecution operation.
There is an intimidating aspect to this: locking these people up in prison is an act of terror
– he said.
He recalled that what is happening in Poland is happening in a broader context: attempts to turn the European Union into a neo-empire. In such a creation – he emphasized – there will be no democracy. And here we find one of the important explanations for the enthusiasm with which Brussels and Berlin accept the police rule that prevailed in Poland after December 13, 2023.
Bronisław Wildstein says:
Tusk brags in interviews about how he is praised for being able to deal with “populism” and that what he does is a kind of “laboratory” in the fight against populism. I have also found this sentence in several foreign media, which explicitly write that Poland is now a laboratory for dealing with populism, that is, democracy. Because liberal democracy is not democracy – just as socialist democracy was not.
The writer and philosopher believes that a government that came to power in Poland under the banner of restoring the rule of law is blatantly violating the law and the constitution. And he resorts to violence – in taking over the public media, in attempting to take over the prosecutor’s office, in jailing MPs Kamiński and Wąsik, and even against the president.
Invading the presidential palace, blocking the president’s movement, blocking the exit from Belvedere Palace with a bus is physical violence. A step further is physically capturing the president
– emphasized the guest of the meeting, “Mariusz Kamiński. Maciej Wąsik – political prisoners.
