Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Relations and head of the LDPR party Leonid Slutsky said that if the Ukrainian peace summit in Switzerland is held without Russia’s participation, it will be another waste of time. Slutsky talked about this in an interview RIA News.
“The fact that Switzerland has expressed its readiness to regulate this is rather a tribute to the general Western trend,” the parliamentarian believes.
According to the politician, a peace summit on Ukraine in Switzerland, if planned without Russia’s participation, will turn into another waste of time and a predictably ineffective initiative.
The MP emphasized that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s so-called “peace formula” has nothing to do with the real achievement of peace. Slutsky called Zelensky’s plan “stillborn.” It does not take into account either the opinions of Donbass residents or the current situation at the front.
Slutsky noted that if Western countries really want to hold a real peace summit on Ukraine, they should immediately stop financial and military support to Kiev.
