Meeting with prosecutors
Attorney General Adam Bodnar attempted to remove prosecutor Dariusz Barski from office on Friday. The ministry also announced that Jacek Bilewicz, prosecutor of the National Public Prosecution Service, will become acting National Prosecutor. However, making legal changes to the PK position requires the president’s consent, which Bodnar has not obtained.
President Andrzej Duda will meet today with PK Dariusz Barski and the deputies of the Attorney General. The mention of the Presidential Chancellery on the X platform shows that Andrzej Duda opposed the actions of Justice Minister Adam Bodnar.
He stated that he did not agree with the dismissal of the National Prosecutor and had no opinion about the appointment of a new National Prosecutor.

Minister Bodnar’s inability to comply with the conditions of the Public Prosecution Act and his decisions have no legal consequences.
