The head of the President’s Office, Marcin Mastalerek, stated on RMF FM that the police operation the day before yesterday at the Presidential Palace, where Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik were detained, took place with the participation of as many as fourteen police officers. “There is no one more concerned about parliamentarians than the president,” he assured.

According to Mastalerek, the police officers’ actions were caused by frustration over the inability to arrest Kamiński and Wąsik earlier, before the afternoon of January 9, when President Duda met with the former heads of the CBA.
The police knew. They failed to carry out the action. They stared and, probably frustrated by their incompetence, did everything they could to make a show of it
– said the head of the office of the President of the Republic of Poland.
Minister Mastalerek also commented on the possibility of President Andrzej Duda applying another act of mercy.
The president is not changing his position. However, from a legal point of view, this case has not yet been concluded
– he said.
The case is not closed
– added.
““The president has a plan.”
Mastalerek noted that the President of the Republic of Poland is extremely concerned and interested in the fate of detained Law and Justice politicians. He also added that the head of state has a plan of what to do in this situation
There is no one more concerned about lawmakers than the president. He met them many times and note that Mariusz Kamiński’s wife said yesterday on TV Republika that she should have permission to apply for a pardon because Kamiński never applied for a second pardon.
– he explained.
I wouldn’t want to publicly announce the president’s moves. I know he has a plan. He knows what to do
– he revealed.
The presidential minister also commented Jan Rokita’s column in “Political Teologia”where the former PO politician harshly assessed the Polish state’s actions towards Kamiński and Wąsik PiS, calling them “unprecedented” and “revolutionary”.
Jan Rokita says in a column for Political Teologia that the ruling camp, led by Donald Tusk, is going so far in its attack on the rule of law as to introduce a kind of limited state of emergency in Poland to provoke a revolution that did not happen in the Third Reich, that is, in the Soviet Union. These are the words of the former PO candidate for Prime Minister and I think we cannot ignore them
– emphasized Mastalerek.
